Ice cream and beer. Sure, you’ve probably tried them separately, but what about together? It’s the most ingenious idea since Rum Raisin. Chris Cuzme and Mary Izett make up the New York City Degustation Advisory Team, dedicated to “the promotion and appreciation of craft beer through creative and delectable food pairing.” Delectable is right.

Tonight at Jimmy’s No. 43 (43 E. 7th St.), six ice creams and sorbets will be paired with six craft beers to “make sums greater than their individual parts.” If it’s anywhere near as good as cocktails and cupcakes, you won’t be disappointed. Cuzme and Izett will also talk about the pairings and explain why they work.

The gathering will be in two sessions: 6:30-7:45 p.m. and 8:15-9:30 p.m. More information can be found here.
