Avatar Re-Released in Theaters This Friday

In case the DVD just isn’t enough Na’vi for you, Avatar will be re-released in select theaters this Friday, August 27. To date, Avatar has made $760 million domestically, according to Box Office Mojo, good for 14th all-time, if we’re adjusting for inflation (and, indeed, we are).

By now it’s common practice for a movie that’s made hundreds of millions to be released in theaters after its original run. Here are the films that have done just that—and made more dough than Avatar:
