The Break of Noon keeps getting better. The play, surely one of the fall season highlights, is written by Neil LaBute (reasons to be pretty), directed by Jo Bonney (Some Girl(s)) and, in his stage debut, stars David Duchovny (The X-Files, Californication) as a man, John, who sees the face of God. Now comes news that Amanda Peet will co-star as John’s wife, Ginger/Ginger’s cousin, Jesse.

I’ve always thought that Peet was more talented than her spotty resume—The Whole Nine Yards, Melinda and Melinda—would otherwise prove. The actress also has previous theater experience, including playing Corie in the revival of Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park.

The Break of Noon begins October 28 and runs until December 12 at the MCC Theater.
