Spidey Senses all over the city tingling: Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark is almost here.

The musical, directed by Julie Taymor with music from U2′s Bono and the Edge, will begin previews on November 13 at the newly named Foxwoods Theatre (formerly Hilton Theatre), with an official opening scheduled for December 21. Tickets to the show will be a perfect Christmas gift for all the Julie Taymor-loving kids out there!

The fact that there even is a premiere date is shocking in itself; the musical was supposed to begin performances earlier this year but has since faced a plethora of problems, including debt (supposedly, Turn Off the Dark will cost $52 million, the highest ever for a Broadway play) and actors dropping out, including Evan Rachel Wood as Mary Jane Watson and Alan Cumming as the Green Goblin, Spider-Man’s nemesis.

But everything appears to be on track now, with a cast of Reeve Carney as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane and Patrick Page as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin. Page has a history of performing in big-time Broadway musicals, including The Grinch in Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Scar in The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast‘s Lumière.

Tickets for Turn Off the Dark go on-sale August 14 at 10 a.m. for American Express cardholders, and sometime in September for everyone else. Tickets are priced $67.50-$135 for weekday performances and $67.50-$140 for the weekend.
