Are you a talented animator who just hasn’t gotten your big break yet? Here’s the chance to show the world your talent—and win some amazing prizes.

Babelgum recently announced the world’s first tri-platform (online, mobile and offline) competition for animation and anime, the Babelgum Animatron Film Festival, which will culminate at the Hamptons Animation Showcase at the Hamptons International Film Festival in October.

According to Karol Martesko-Fenster, senior vice president and general manager of Babelgum’s Film Division, “The Animatron Film Festival is an exciting new event for the animation community, and the popularity of animation and anime among both domestic and international audiences makes the Hamptons International Film Festival environment an ideal live venue for our cross-platform competition, which will be freely accessed, viewed, and voted on by anyone in the world.”

To be eligible, head to Babelgum and submit your video in one of five categories—Humor, Fantasy, Real Life, Anime or Minis (under 60 seconds)—before August 22, and if enough people vote for it, you can win up to $5,000 and a platform for millions to watch your film.

According to the rules, “Eligible films will incorporate any known animation technique, including CGI, stop-motion, Flash, hand-drawn/cel, live-action mixed, claymation, paper-cut, Pixilation, RotoScope, 3D, machinima and others. There are no restrictions on production year or whether the film has been previously distributed or entered into any online and/or offline film festival.”

Entries will be voted on by the public and leaders in the animation field, including RotoScope pioneer Tommy Pallotta (Waking Life, A Scanner Darkly), visual-effects producer Charlotte Bavasso (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), and animators Pete Bishop (Bromwell High, Captain Star), Isaac Littlejohn Eddy (Anatomy of a Dog Show, Capturing King) and Jeffrey Scher (Paper View, Tulips), with others to be announced shortly.
