How many times do you think you can bounce a golf ball off a club more than 1,427 times? Maybe you posses the talent to name more than 21 Radiohead songs in 30 seconds? How about giving out more than 51 kisses in 10 seconds? All of these are documented world records, and tonight you can challenge them or set your own with your, um, unique ability.

Hosted by URDB.org at Joe’s Pub, the World Record Appreciation Society believes that “everyone on earth has potential to be the world’s best at something.” I, for one, know I can sing Bob Dylan’s “Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts” in under two minutes. Jealous? Also don’t test me on my mathbox twenty knowledge.

Tonight’s event will feature guest appearances from:
Writer/Performer Elna Baker (The Talent Show, This American Life)
Comedian Cory Calvin (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)
Magician Richie Magic (Ripley’s Believe It or Not, The Marriage Ref)
Writer/Director Todd Lamb (Loud People, Notes from Chris)
Rapper Tots feat. Mix Master Mash: Most Potato References in a Rap Song
Matt Reynolds: Most The Big Lebowski Catchphrases Recited in One Minute
Alex Young: Most Red Plastic Solo Cups Held Against Wall Using Body
Ay Buim: Most Gallagher VHS Tapes Smashed With a Sledgehammer in One Minute

That last record is particulary impressive. Tickets for tonight’s 9:30 p.m. event cost $15. More information, and a full list of world records, can be found on urdb.org.
