Valentine’s Tea and Tunes

On Valentine’s Day, there are many options for flowers and fancy dinners, but it’s not often that a Los Angeles resident can one oneself in a home built in 1864, where the architecture is Greek Revival and the interiors are Victorian. The Banning Museum in Los Angeles is hostin is 5th annual Valentine’s “Tea and Tunes.” The tea is self explanatory, but the tunes will be the live entertainment provided by vocalist Brenda Lynne, accompanied by Sam Sorensen.

Besides tea, members and guests will enjoy tea sandwiches and sweets.

In addition to an afternoon program of tea and entertainment, event guests will be invited on complimentary tours of the museum after the event, featuring the special “Victorian Parasols and Handbags” exhibition assembled especially for this occasion.

The even is part of the Friends of Banning Museum’s Garden Parlor Series, which is a group of programs offered to support the Museum’s mission to Preserve History, Promote Education and Inspire Entrepreneurial Spirit.

Tea and tea sandwiches sounds like a scene out of an Oscar Wilde play, so if that’s your cup of tea, pun intended, swing on by for a Valentine’s Day event like any other. Don’t forget to dress for the occasion…hats, gloves and whatever else your heart desires.
